CREATE · CHANGE · RUN

Your focus time.
Your own rules.

Describe a focus timer, ask for custom session lengths, and use it inside Etono’s native phone app.

Actual iOS Simulator footage, edited to omit generation and timer waits. This trial included a layout repair. English interface and synthetic female narration. Music: “Life in Silico” — Scott Buckley, CC BY 4.0; excerpted, faded and mixed below the narration.

THE IDEA

Start with a familiar need.
Make a personal tool.

Forest was the reference for a familiar focus-timer need. We chose only foreground timing and completed-session history, then made Focus Arc with an original name and interface.

An independent tested example

This case is not affiliated with or endorsed by Forest, and is not a complete replacement. No tree artwork, code or recordings were copied. App blocking, tree planting and health benefits are not implemented or claimed.

1 · CREATE

Describe the purpose.
Include something to check.

Create a new app in Etono and enter this exact request from our trial. Keep Etono in the foreground while it works. Creation and changes need internet access and Credits; time, usage and results can vary.

This walkthrough records an English-language trial. Use fictional session names while checking your own result.

ACTUAL STARTING REQUEST

Create an English-language focus timer app called Focus Arc. Let me name a focus session, choose 1, 5 or 25 minutes, start/pause/resume a countdown, and save completed sessions with their duration in a history list. Use only English text throughout. Keep it simple, with a clear circular progress indicator and local records.

2 · CHECK

Finish a short session.
Then change the rules.

In the generated app, enter Read chapter, explicitly choose 1 minute, then start. Pause and check that the number holds still before resuming to completion.

Initial timer checks

We paused at 00:47. Two screenshots taken several seconds apart still showed 00:47. After resuming, the app confirmed completion and saving, with 1 session and 1 minute focused. An accidentally started 25-minute timer was reset before completion and did not add history.

3 · CHANGE

Choose your session length.
Keep the completed record.

Return to the conversation and send the actual follow-up below. The first change added a Custom control. We checked valid values and validation messages in the phone interface.

Minute values we checked

1, 12 and 120 minutes were accepted. 0, 121 and 1.5 were rejected with English validation messages. Finish input using the keyboard toolbar checkmark; Return submits the form and starts the timer.

ACTUAL FOLLOW-UP

Add a custom duration in whole minutes from 1 to 120, while keeping the existing Read chapter session and all session history. Keep every label, validation message and placeholder in English. Also make sure the full history list can be reached by scrolling in the phone preview.

IF A CHANGE NEEDS REPAIR

Describe the visible problem.
Keep the same app.

After the first change, the tall timer still left history out of reach. We sent this actual repair request in the same project, preserving the existing record. The generator’s own checks were not treated as phone acceptance.

ACTUAL REPAIR REQUEST

On the actual iPhone preview, the tall timer pushes the controls and history below the screen, and scrolling still does not reach them. Fix this in the same app: use a compact responsive timer layout and prominent Timer / History tabs near the top. The Timer tab must fit the session name, duration presets, custom minutes field, validation and Start/Pause/Resume/Reset controls in the phone viewport. The History tab must directly show the existing Read chapter 1-minute completed session and totals. Preserve all existing history and the custom 1–120 whole-minute rule. Use only English throughout. Do not add demo records or change completed totals.

4 · RUN & REOPEN

Use it on your phone.
Leave and check again.

Use Run, then open History to inspect the record. Return to the project list and reopen the same Focus Arc. Compare the name, count and completed minutes.

Actual checks after the change

After the repair, Timer and History were directly reachable in the phone preview. The original Read chapter record stayed at 1 minute. We then completed Read chapter 2 for 1 minute: the totals became 2 sessions and 2 minutes. Both names and durations remained after leaving and reopening the same project. We also checked starting, pausing, resuming and resetting a custom 12-minute timer; an unfinished timer did not add history.

SCOPE & ACCESS

Check your result
before relying on it.

Etono is in early access. This case used local Etono 0.1.2 (4) on an iOS Simulator. Physical-device, Android, lock-screen and background timing were not validated.

Records in this example belong to this device’s app data. Cloud sync, notifications, blocking other apps and multi-device collaboration were not tested. Generated results may differ and need repairs. Running inside Etono does not mean exporting or publishing a standalone store app.

AI creation and editing need internet access and Credits. Access, payment options and prices vary by platform and region; see current downloads and testing access and Credits and pricing.
