CREATE · CHANGE · RUN

Your reading.
Your own app.

Start with a reading tracker, then ask Etono to add a daily goal. Use the result inside Etono’s native phone app.

Actual iOS Simulator recordings and held result frames, edited to omit generation waits. This trial needed follow-up fixes. English UI and synthetic female narration. Music: “Life in Silico” — Scott Buckley, CC BY 4.0; excerpted, faded and mixed below narration.

THE NEED

Track your books.
Choose your own rules.

We used the reading-progress need in Goodreads as a starting point, not its social network. Page Trail has an original name, interface and fictional book data.

An independent example

This case is not affiliated with or endorsed by Goodreads. No third-party code, book covers, content or recordings were copied. Book discovery, social features and a complete replacement are not implemented or claimed.

1 · CREATE

Describe the purpose.
Start with something small.

Create a new app in Etono and describe the book and progress fields. Keep Etono in the foreground while it works. The reusable request below removes one stray final character from our actual submission.

See the exact recorded starting request

Create an English reading tracker called Page Trail where I can add a book title and total pages, update the current page, see percentage progress, and keep my books saved between visits.w

The trailing “w” was an input typo. It is retained here as part of the actual record.

REUSABLE STARTING REQUEST · CLEANED

Create an English reading tracker called Page Trail where I can add a book title and total pages, update the current page, see percentage progress, and keep my books saved between visits.

2 · CHECK

Add two fictional books.
Check the numbers.

Add Lantern Road with 240 total pages and Quiet Harbor with 120 total pages. Set their current pages to 60 and 30. These are test values, not a claim about real reading speed.

Initial phone checks

Both cards showed 25%. An empty title was rejected without adding a book. The initial generation stopped before finishing, but the saved app opened; we kept the same project and used follow-ups to complete the goal feature.

3 · CHANGE

Ask for a daily goal.
Keep your existing books.

Return to the conversation and send the complete follow-up from this trial. It asks for whole-number goals, rounded-up remaining days and preservation of existing data.

ACTUAL FOLLOW-UP

Add a whole-number daily reading goal from 1 to 300 pages and show how many days remain for each unfinished book, rounding up; preserve the existing books and page progress, keep all text in English, and make every control fit a phone screen. Also fix the loading/error panels so they appear only when active, and prevent horizontal overflow on this phone. Keep all visible interface text and progress updates in English; describe feature behavior briefly rather than technical setup. Finish the existing app without deleting either saved book or resetting page progress.

WHEN A CHANGE NEEDS WORK

Describe the visible problem.
Continue in the same app.

The first goal change stopped. Retry preserved the work, but the new control did not save a goal. We then sent two specific repair requests. The second addressed the visible “Unknown endpoint” error. Do not recreate the app or discard the books just to retry.

Exact continuation created by Retry

Continue the unfinished app task. Check the existing progress and the cause of failure, preserve completed work, and finish the remaining work.

ACTUAL FIRST REPAIR · VERBATIM

Finish the daily-goal change in this existing Page Trail app. Save goal currently. Leaves the old value, and books show no days remaining. Make saving 25 pages/day show Quiet Harbor 4 days and Lantern Road 8 days. Preserve both books and progress. Test the change, keep the UI English, and give only a brief feature summary.

A SPECIFIC FOLLOW-UP

Name the error.
Say what should work.

After the follow-up below, the updated app was running. The generator’s check stopped again before completing, so we accepted the case only after checking the real phone interface ourselves.

ACTUAL FINAL REPAIR

Save goal gives Unknown endpoint. Make goal 25 work in the running app. Preserve both books and progress. Verify 8 and 4 days. English UI.

4 · RUN & REOPEN

Use your new rule.
Check what stays saved.

In Run, set 25 pages per day and tap Save goal. Inspect both book cards. Leave for the project list, reopen the same Page Trail and use Refresh preview to read the saved result again.

Actual phone-interface results

  • At 60/240 and 30/120: both showed 25%, with 8 and 4 days left at 25 pages per day.
  • Lantern Road at 90/240: 38% displayed (37.5% rounded), with 6 days left. At 240/240: 100% and Finished.
  • Goals of 1 and 300 saved. Goals of 0, 301 and 1.5 were rejected in the UI. A zero total-page count and a negative current page were rejected.
  • Current page 241 was capped at 240 with an English last-page message; it was not rejected.
  • After restoring 60/240, reopening and refreshing, the two books, progress and 25-page goal remained. No third book was created by the invalid-input check.

SCOPE & ACCESS

Test your own result.
Expect to refine it.

Etono is in early access. This trial used an English local build 0.1.2 (4) on an iOS 26.5 Simulator. Physical-device and Android behavior were not validated.

Focusing the small page-number field sometimes zoomed this iOS preview. Returning to the goal field or refreshing restored the framing. This is a tested personal example, not a claim that its interface is fully polished.

Saved data was checked in this same app on this device. Uninstall/reinstall, cloud sync, multi-device use were not verified. Generated results can vary and need fixes. The result runs inside Etono; this does not mean exporting or publishing a standalone store app.
